Christopher Scott is a film director, producer, writer, and editor, noted for his films dealing with controversial social and political issues. He co-founded GrandTheftVideo.com and is the owner of Maroontown Pictures. He has been directing films since 1993 and is credited by numerous international film critics as the originator of the cinematic style commonly known as "Hyperrealism".
In 2005, he directed PURE, an avant-garde documentary about drug culture and the perils of drug use. That same year, he directed THE MONTH OF THERMIDOR, an experimental film exploring life in a post 9-11 environment. In 2007 he directed a documentary about the House dance scene in New York City. He also acted as the Director of Photography and Editor for the ground breaking and controversial documentary entitled For Our Sons.
In 2007, Scott was the Director of Photography on the dramatic film entitled Scenes From A Rooftop. Set in New York City, Scenes From A Rooftop deals with mental illness, suicide, and child abuse in an African-American family. In 2008, Christopher Scott co-produced, shot, and edited the Bermudan feature film entitled The Bike Thief, noted as the first neo-realist film ever made on the island of Bermuda. That same year, he also edited New York Shorts and More Than A Haircut.
Christopher Scott exemplifies the aura of the new avant-garde cinema. His cinematic repertoire puts him on the upper echelon of underground anti-establishment filmmakers.
